The 75mm infantry gun was a light German infantry-support gun designed in 1927. It could fire high-explosive shells at a range of about 3,500 meters and could also be used against lightly armored vehicles. It was usually transported by horse or half-track. The German army fielded about 3,000 in 1939 to provide intrinsic artillery support for infantry battalions.
